In 1993-1999 Prof. Ortlepp fulfils Study of Mathematics at the Technical University of Ilmenau, specialization Technical computer science and hardware design During. 2000-2004 deals with theoretical electrical engineering in University of Ilmenau. 2004-2010 conducts post-doctoral and teaching courses in University of Twente in Holland, University of Savoie in France, University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, Technical University of Sofia in Bulgaria, Yokohama National University in Japan 2011-2012 Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, lead an industrial project for the development of hybrid high-performance storage for supercomputers. Since 2013 is R&D manager in CiS Forschungsinstitut for Mikrosensorik GmbH. In February 2015 Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Yokohama National University in Japan, Institute of Advanced Science, department of extremely energy-efficient microelectronics and high-sensitivity sensors. Since October 2015 is a CiS Forschungsinstitut Managing Director.
