Annual Automotive Powertrain Summit
In a motor vehicle, the term powertrain or powerplant describes the main components that generate power and deliver it to the road surface, water, or air. This includes the engine, transmission, drive shafts, differentials, and the final drive. More recently in hybrid Powertrains the battery, the electric motor and the control algorithm are also seen as elements of the Powertrain. Sometimes powertrain is used to refer to simply the engine and transmission, including the other components only if they are integral to the transmission.
The highest technology companies and institutions, the most influential leaders and the latest trends all squeezed at #WAS’17
The top automotive powertrain systems experts to get you inspired.
Non-large scale B2B event for decision makers to maximize networking and business opportunities
‘Annual Automotive Powertrain Summit’ scheduled for 18th and 19th of May 2017, in Berlin, Germany.
The most recent developments in Powertrain are driven by the electrification of it in multiple components. Electrical energy needs to be provided and usually this leads to larger batteries. Electrical engines can be found as isolated components or as part of other elements, e.g. the axle. In hybrid Powertrains the torque generated by the combustion engine and the electric motor have to be brought together and distributed to the wheels. The control of this process can be quite involved but the rewards are greatly improved acceleration values as well as much better emissions.
The industry is utilizing innovations in Powertrain technology to meet the 2025 goal of 54.5 MPG set by CAFE Standards. While advancements in Powertrain technologies are allowing OEM’s to meet these goals, the industry is still struggling to communicate the value of certain technologies to their consumer base. At the “Automotive Powertrain Summit” industry leaders will come together to discuss regulatory, technological and strategic Powertrain issues.
You also won’t want to miss out on sessions discussing the evolution of the North American driver; progress in the development of electric vehicles, as well as strategies to increase consumer understanding of advanced and alternative Powertrains.
Talent is the key. With that in mind, we have carefully selected the biggest experts, with a proven-track record of successes in the automotive world.
We offer you the most suitable experience to your area of interest.
